I FEEL PRETTY

Some folks sitting

On committee

Feel they’re witty and vested with power

To pass judgment

On a deal they haven’t known but for an hour

There’s no teamwork

In what seems work

Of their knee-jerk reactions and still

Can’t help noting

That they’re gloating

When they vote our deal to kill

Why does our experience count for naught.

Why is it required that we

Justify the spread

Justify the comp

Justify the price

Justify the yield?

Some will pound it

‘til it’s grounded.

Though unfounded they’ll hound it and quip

Just to prove

they know how to shoot from the hip.
